My First Portfolio Website

Portfolio 2022
The One Where It All Began2022.nicolecht.com

This marks the beginning of my journey into the tech world – my very first website! 🚀 I put this together to showcase my skills, highlight bootcamp projects, and display online certificates. Ultimately, it played a crucial role in landing my first frontend developer job and solidifying my path in tech.

Back then, I was still navigating through YouTube tutorials, soaking up knowledge. This website was inspired by a tutorial video, but as I coded away, I injected my own ideas. This decision not only accelerated my learning but also unleashed my creativity. Instead of sticking to the YouTube script, I ventured into solving challenges independently, revealing the potent capabilities of frontend development in bringing ideas to life.

Notably, this project was constructed without leveraging any frameworks or UI libraries, relying solely on HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript, and JQuery.

Portfolio 2022 Skills

I hold a deep affection for this website, not only for the nostalgia it evokes but also for specific elements, such as the skills section. I distinctly remember the joy of devising a design that elegantly and systematically displayed my skills, accommodating varying numbers of images in each frame.

Portfolio 2022 Project

Let's not forget my first-ever carousel (thanks to a JQuery library). Understanding how that magic worked was a game-changer!

Portfolio 2022 Contact

Now, the contact form – that was a struggle. Instead of opting for email services, I dove into PHP, and it took me weeks to figure it out. But hey, mission accomplished!

This website is like a digital time capsule, still live at 2022.nicolecht.com. It serves as a constant reminder of the starting point of this exciting adventure, and it's here to stay. 🌟
